The Task Force meeting represents the second step of a new process which aims at promoting a bottom up approach and which is ultimately expected to lead to the amendment of the GFCM Agreement and associated rules in order to enable GFCM to respond to the challenges arisen in respect of the current status of fisheries and aquaculture in the Mediterranean and Black sea.

Workshop on Socio-economic Assessment of Egyptian Fisheries.
The methodology of the assessment was described and the results were presented. The assessment particularly gave a wide overview of the social aspects of the fisheries.
